Moving...

I have so many posts in me at the moment ready to burst out but I'm sans internet as I've just moved flat.

A very stressful and quite upsetting affair although in the long run it is a better move. More words and photos soon x

Summer Camp

Recently I trundled my little self on behalf of the wonderful people at Snipe to the lovely Summer Camp HQ (in other words, their living room). Taking your lighting on a 271 was something I hadn't experienced before, even though this was a route I'd been on many a time as a little adolescent (Holloway Odean, every Saturday for about 5 years... Got turned away there from Look Who's Talking Too, when I was 9... damn 12 rating! Still gripes me...)

Anyhoo here are some photos I took of this lovely band (who you can listen to here)

This is the one they picked accompanied by the piece by the very talented Laura Snapes, which you can read here .

W.G Sebald.

I had one lecture with Sebald, very sadly shortly before he was killed in a car accident. It was before I had read any of his books, and if my recollection serves me right, it was based around the concepts of the power of narrative and its sometimes fraught relationship with translation. I remember the sense of surprise (as lectures rarely gripped me in my 1st year of uni) and inspiration I felt as I left the big lecture theatre at UEA (just opposite the library). It sadly took me a while to actually sit down and read his books properly and by then, I felt even sadder that he wasn't able to write anymore. I heartily recommend him to you.. and by the sounds of it, so does Dan.
